Zermatt - SwitzerlandZermatt is surrounded by a variety of magnificent mountains and its high altitude results in consistent skiing continuously during the summer. The high altitude results in reliable boarding constantly all the way through the summer months. Zermatt is a car-free community and transportation is available in the form of either electric-cars - which are more or less completely quiet, or horse-drawn sleighs and carriages. Skiing within Zermatt is divided into a number of locations: Sunnegga, Gornergrat, Klien Matterhorn and Schwarzsee. You will have access to 350km of slopes, connecting to Breuil Cervina and Valtoumenche in Italy.
Levi, FinlandThe ski season in Levi lasts approximately eight months from mid-October until the beginning of June and its northern setting pretty much promises snowfall right down to the base of the mountain. For boarders Levi has just one super-pipe, one half-pipe and a couple of snow parks. When you are in Levi you may also want to check out cross-country skiing, on some of the 230km cross-skiing paths, or taking a reindeer sleigh ride. Val d’Isere, FranceA ski holiday in Val d’Isere, one of the widely used areas in the whole of Europe, has a little something to provide most people from first-timers to pros. The holiday resort comes with 300km of piste and the location also shares its ski area with Tignes. A massive ninety-nine lifts can move more than 135,000 skiers an hour. There is plenty of après-ski to suit everyone and it fitting after a long day on the slopes.
